Arthritis.org produced a list of foods that reduce inflammation. As always make sure that the foods do not interfere with the effectiveness of the chemotherapy treatment.
Reduce inflamation:
- Green Tea
- Omega 3 fats - Salmon,sardines, herring, tuna
- brussel sprouts, cabbage and broccoli, spinach, kale (reduced osteoarthritis)
- garlic, onions and leaks (reduced osteo arthritis)
- Oatmeal, brown and wild rice, beans, barley and quinoa
- Vitamin D and calcium
- Olive oil
- Blueberries, blackberries, cherries and strawberries
- Walnuts, pine nuts, pistachios and almonds
- Foods with Omega 6 fatty acids ( corn, margarine, sunnflower oil, egg yolks, sunflower oil)
- Cheese
- Eating high temp grilled or fried meats
- Processed foods
- Salt
