combo therapy

She has received terrific results from a Phase 1b/2 clinical trial involving a well known chemotherapy drug called doxorubicin (adrimycin) and a new drug called IMC-3G3 also know as Olaratumab.  She had seven or more tumors in her abdomen and pelvic area in July, 2011 and they all disappeared in September.  She is now in the second phase of the trial in which she just takes the 3G3 drug that is intended to block a protein that is thought to be necessary for the growth of certain sarcomas.  The side effects of the 3G3 drug are minimal for her.  She looks and feels great.  She is participating in the trial at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NY, but it is offered at other cancer centers. She receives a chest, stomache and pelvic CT Scan every 6 weeks and received 4 CLEAN SCANS in a row.  This is definitely something to look into.  For many patients, Chemo definitely will eliminate or stop the progression of this type of disease.  The trick is to find something that prevents tumors from reappearing once the chemo treatment is over.  We do not know whether the 3G3 drug is helping at all, but chemo alone did not keep her cancer from reappearing in the past so we are assuming that this is the difference. We went to several prestigious cancer centers for advice and found that Sloan Kettering had the most expertise with this rare disease.  My wife didn't simply look to the doctors for healing though.  She turned to God, and most people that know her believe that she is a living miracle.  I'll pray that you will be one too!!
